Zuzanna Całka ….
… is a Warsaw based musician, classically trained pianist and composer. She makes music by manipulating and multi-tracking sounds from piano and synthesizers.
In her latest project, Zuzanna crosses the boundaries of classical music, combining tradition with experiment and psychedelic raptures. Minimalist sketches contrast with complex structures, creating intriguing, and sometimes even hallucinatory, trance-like melodies. Improvisation becomes a spontaneous dialogue with the universe to which she invites listeners.
The debut EP Late Night Takes was featured on the Piano Day playlist curated by Nils Frahm. Zuzannas Summer Tour includes Poland, Slovakia, the Netherlands and Germany, including the OPIA Festival in Utrecht organized by Olafur Arnalds OPIA community where the artist performed alongside the world-famous duo Kiasmos.
Zuzanna’s illustrative work was awarded the 1st prize at the Transatlantyk Festival with Jan AP Kaczmarek as the head of the jury.
