Salon Fähig

Welcome to the Science Varieté!

The ensemble of Salon Fähig specializes in creating and producing original show concepts centered around scientific themes. Salon Fähig is German and means “socially acceptable” (literal translation: “Salon Capable”).

Blending music, acrobatics, and conversations with experts, each performance is carefully crafted like an elegant salon evening or a classic varieté show. In this way, we create a harmonious and inviting first encounter between science and the audience.

Concept

Drawing on the tradition of European salon culture, Ines Theileis develops a new Gesamtkunstwerk with her ensemble for each theme, in which scientific content is conveyed with atmosphere and a finely balanced sense of lightness.

Central to this approach is the interaction with scientists and experts on stage. Only through this exchange does a unique blend of skills emerge—entertaining in their interplay and mutual responsiveness—giving new weight to light artistic forms while, at the same time, opening up innovative modes of expression and design for science.
